Read and take notes on Chapter 6, Section 2 and answer questions #1-4.

P.S. - Check your history day packet for due dates!

P.P.S. - Thesis and a list of 15 facts or quotes that support your 3 points that you plan to include in your project are due by Monday, October 28th.

P.P.P.S. - A LOT of you haven't turned in your thesis yet, please turn that in BEFORE you turn in your quotes.

P.P.P.P.S. - If you have turned in your thesis and I've handed it back to you to revise, please turn that revision in along with the old thesis so I can see what has been changed.

Period 5 & 7 - October 17th

We read and took notes on Chapter 6, Section 1 in The Americans textbook.


  • George Washington and his creation of his cabinet.
  • The opposing views of Hamilton and Jefferson. 


The exit pass or ending assignment was to write a short answer (at least 5 sentences) to show your support for either Hamilton or Jefferson.

If you were unable to finish, bring your response on Monday.

Write 4 -5 reasons why you support either Hamilton or Jefferson.

The following handouts will help you (or your student) study and get ready for the Constitution Unit Test - assessed after Fall Break. (The Tuesday and Wednesday we come back)

They were all given out in class, graded and handed back to the student by Thursday, October 3rd.

We the People Chapter 11: Articles of Confederation - know the disadvantages of the Articles of Confederation

We the People Chapter 13: Small States vs Large States - know what "equal representation", "proportional representation" is, and study questions 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.

We the People Chapter 14: Three-Fifths Compromise - know what "Three-Fifths clause" is, and study questions 4, 5 and 6

Federalists and Anti-Federalists (blue handout) - know what each group wanted and why

Constitutional Convention (green handout) - know what "bicameral" is and why it was important

Anatomy of the Constitution Reading Packet - know the structure, function and powers and identify the roles of the three branches of government, intentions of the Preamble of the Constitution

Bill of Rights Handout - know the rights that are granted by the Bill of Rights, know how it restricts the federal government

3 Branches of Government graphic organizer (filled out)- know the purpose and structure of the 3 branches

Checks and Balances (filled out) - know how the 3 branches check and balance each other and why it's important to have checks and balances.
